Keeping our visitors safe

Security information:

It goes without saying that the safety and security of our visitors and staff is our absolute priority.  If you are visiting our arena, please ensure you arrive in plenty of time to pass through our enhanced security checks.

Our bag policy:

It is always advantageous that you don’t bring a bag with you, however if this is an essential your bag must be no more than 40cm X 40cm and will be subject to a thorough search.

Bags larger than 40cm x 40cm will not be allowed into the event.

Get ready to be scanned:

We have recently introduced security scanners to arena events and all entrances at intu Braehead which will be present and in operation from time to time.

The smart technology of our scanners can differentiate between everyday items and items that may be deemed dangerous. So, no need to remove mobile phones, coins or keys before you enter.

If the scanner is set off, we will then ask for permission to search the person.

It is compulsory that visitors go through the scanners when they are in operation. Those who refuse to go through the scanners will be refused entry to the event and intu Braehead.

Please note that these scanners are safe to be used by pregnant women. If you have a medical reason which you feel may be affected by these machines, please speak to a member of our team.

How else do we keep you safe:

There lots of other security measures you can see and of course the ones you can’t. We monitor the whole site each and every day and our staff are trained to ensure all our visitors have a safe, secure and happy time.

We have very close working relationships with the security services and Police at both local and national levels and we are in close contact with the authorities, as you would expect. We also have well-rehearsed and flexible security plans in place to ensure intu Braehead is a safe place to be. Our event, retail and security staff are highly trained in surveillance techniques and we regularly rehearse and test our response procedures to serious incidents.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us here or speak to a member of our highly qualified team. They will be wearing an intu uniform, so they will be easy to spot.

See something out of place:

While you are at one of our events or in centre, if you spot something which seems out of place or something that just doesn’t seem right to you, don’t hesitate and notify one of our team members or call the police on 101.

We appreciate all our visitors assistance with our security measures, we hope you enjoy the event at the arena.
